Radiant Skin with Minimal Downtime

Remove years of sun damage and other skin concerns using the HALO LASER treatment.  Over time, your skin can lose its youthful glow due to sun exposure and your body’s natural aging process. As a result, your skin develops sun spots, fine lines, and loses that natural healthy glow. Previous lasers couldn’t effectively remove this damage, because the treatment was either too shallow or too deep. The HALO LASER eliminates years of damage by precisely targeting the right depth, restoring the luminous glow you had when you were younger.

The HALO FRACTIONAL LASER is a top-line treatment to address:

  • Wrinkles and Fine Lines

  • Acne Scars

  • Enlarged Pores

  • Skin Dullness

  • Abnormal Pigmentation; Sun Damage

Frequently Asked Questions

How does HALO LASER work?

The HALO LASER treatment is a hybrid fractional laser. "Hybrid" means it uses 2 different wavelengths, to provide a more dynamic and customizable resurfacing. "Fractional" means that ony a certain amount or percentage of the skin surface is treated. Leaving small islands of healthy skin in between the areas of treated skin allows us to give you results of a full-field resurfacing with a shorter and more predictable healing time.

The HALO FRACTIONAL LASER targets both the epidermis and the dermis—the top layer and the bottom layer of the skin—at the same time, resulting in an effective treatment with minimal recovery time. The ablative wavelength creates tiny open pathways in the skin, in the same way an aerator opens up surface in the lawn. The non-ablative wavelength adds heat energy to these tiny holes, which is like adding fertilizer to your newly aerated lawn.

The ablative wavelength dramatically improves wrinkles and fine lines, while the non-ablative wavelength targets age spots, uneven skin tone, and sagging skin.

Who is the best candidate for HALO LASER?

Each of our patient's skin needs varies. The HALO LASER allows your provider to customize your treatment to target your concerns and still give you the downtime you are prepared for. Need to return to work soon? A light treatment can create a silky smooth, polished skin appearance. Want to blow your friends away? A more aggressive treatment removes years of damage, with about a week of healing and downtime.

Consider a HALO LASER treatment if you want to address these issues anywhere on your skin (face or body):

  • Facial lines and wrinkles

  • Uneven skin texture (enlarged pores)

  • Visible signs of aging

  • Skin discoloration

  • Sun damage

  • Scars

How is HALO LASER performed?

A layer of numbing cream is applied to the treatment area for about 30 minutes. The area to be treated is measured with motion tracking technology to ensure the area is treated evenly. The HALO LASER handpiece is then rolled over the skin, passing both wavelengths simultaneously. Most patients describe the treatment as a feeling of heat with occasional prickling sensations. The skin continues to redden and feel hot both during and after the treatment.

Treatment time is from 30-90 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated.

There is no special preparation before a HALO LASER treatment, but your provider may recommend that you begin a product like hydroquinone for a week or so prior to your service.

For the first 24 hours after treatment, you may use cool compresses to relieve heat sensation. After the first 24 hours your skin will begin to feel rough, like sandpaper. After two to three days you will develop a light bronzing appearance, and small dark dots called MENDS will begin to appear. Allow these to slough off by themselves. Some patients develop some additional swelling on days 2-3, depending on the depth of the treatment. By day three or four your skin will peel, revealing your new, glowing skin beneath.

Depending on your treatment goals, our provider may recommend 1-2 initial HALO LASER treatments.  Additional treatments about once a year are recommended to maintain results.

Patients will already see healthier, clearer skin about 5 days after the procedure. About 3 months after treatment, your skin looks even better, as collagen development has peaked at that time. Continuing to use medical grade skin care and use sunscreen daily to maintain your results.
